At St. Luke’s, community support shows up in so many meaningful ways, and one of our favorites is through our local restaurant partners. Over the years, businesses like Carolina BBQ and The Beacon Drive-In have helped provide Tuesday night meals for our volunteer physicians and staff, making long clinic evenings a little brighter. We are also deeply grateful for the generous support of our annual Bacon & Barrel fundraiser from the following restaurant partners:
Morgan Square Hospitality | Hub City Catering |
Delaneys | Level 10 |
Dray Bar & Grill | The Kennedy |
Main Street Pub | Heirloom |
Cribbs Kitchen | Wades |
Blue Moon Bodega | Sugar & Spice |
Last fall, while preparing for Bacon & Barrel, our team spent time talking with and visiting local restaurants to share information about the event and invite them to get involved. During one of those visits, we had an unexpected and unforgettable moment. We met a restaurant employee who is also a St. Luke’s patient. They immediately shared how much the clinic meant to them and how grateful they were for the care they receive.
That moment stayed with us.
It reminded us that many restaurant employees work may not have access to health insurance. It also helped spark a new idea: what if we partnered more intentionally with local restaurants to help connect their employees with healthcare at no cost?
Since then, we’ve been visiting restaurants throughout the community to share easy-to-use information they can pass along to their staff. Our goal is simple: to make sure more hardworking community members know that St. Luke’s is here for them.
From meals and donations to advocacy and awareness, our local restaurants play a vital role in helping us serve our neighbors. We are so thankful for every business that chooses to support our mission, and for every story that reminds us why this work matters.
Together, we’re building healthier workplaces, stronger partnerships, and a healthier Spartanburg.
