About Us

Changing Lives Since 1992

Primary Care

St. Luke’s Free Medical Clinic provides comprehensive healthcare at no cost to uninsured and underserved adults in Spartanburg County. Since opening our doors in 1992, we have served as a trusted medical home for individuals who earn too much to qualify for public insurance but lack access to affordable healthcare.

Our patients receive primary medical care, chronic disease management, mental health counseling, patient education, and access to physician-prescribed medications. Through strong partnerships with local hospitals, specialists, and community organizations, we are also able to connect patients to diagnostic services, specialty care, and procedures that would otherwise be out of reach.

At St. Luke’s, we believe quality healthcare is essential to human dignity. Every patient is treated with compassion, respect, and a commitment to whole-person care.

Mission

St. Luke’s Free Medical Clinic changes the lives of underserved Spartanburg County residents by providing quality and compassionate healthcare.

Vision

It is the vision of St. Luke’s Free Medical Clinic to be the model for the delivery of quality and compassionate healthcare for Spartanburg’s underserved community.

Values

We believe that all individuals deserve access to quality medical care, regardless of ability to pay. We are committed to providing compassionate care to individuals with unmet healthcare needs in an environment that maintains the dignity of each patient.

Care Beyond Our Walls

In partnership with Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM), St. Luke’s Free Medical Clinic extends access to healthcare beyond our main clinic location to better meet patients where they are.

Every Wednesday morning, we operate a satellite clinic at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church (101 St. Matthews Lane, Spartanburg, SC 29301), providing consistent, accessible care for patients who may face barriers to visiting our primary site.

In partnership with VCOM, St. Luke’s has a mobile medical unit that travels throughout the community, delivering care in locations where access to transportation, time, or resources might otherwise prevent individuals from receiving needed medical services.

39,635 adult residents of Spartanburg County   are uninsured.

$1 donated to St. Luke's providers $26 in services to patients

1,617 individuals served in 2024 through 7,543 medical visits
